Leader
Educators seek out opportunities for leadership to support student empowerment and success and to improve teaching and learning.

This is an introduction to Schoology training created in SoftChalk. I will utilize this training with teachers that are new to our district. I am part of my school's leadership team that supports our new teachers in becoming familiar with our school and district. I will lead sessions for our new teachers that get them started using our technology programs. Schoology will be one of the training sessions.

My leadership philosophy is built on relationships and results. Relationships- I value respect, honesty, integrity, and cooperation in both myself and those I work with or teach. I believe that communication is key to building relationships and functioning as a team to support the goals of the school. Building relationships also requires humility and patience. Results – As a leader, I am goal-oriented, flexible, and a problem-solver. This allows me to be prepared for chaos by having plans ready for what-if situations and using resources around me to meet goals. I also do not assume to know everything. I value listening to those around me to gather feedback in order to plan the best way to get results. I expect colleagues to bring possible solutions for any problems instead of only complaining. I expect for people to help be part of a solution as we build a culture of community within our organization. I also expect and model positive interactions with colleagues and students. I believe that everyone has potential and something to offer to our community. I expect to give or receive constructive criticism or feedback in one-on-one settings. Mistakes will happen and we will learn from those. The overarching ideal that will define my leadership is service. Service to co-workers, students, and the school.

I aspire to move into a new leadership position in my district. As part of my preparation for this goal, I am completing a second Master's degree. One assignment stood out above all the others. That assignment was creating my personal leadership philosophy. This challenged me as a leader to truly identify what leadership means and how I want to lead.
