Education

I attended Oklahoma State University, Tarrant County College, and the University of Southern Mississippi. I earned my bachelor's degree in Education of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing from the University of Southern Mississippi. Additionally, I earned my first Master's degree in Educational Technology Leadership from Lamar University. I recently completed my second Master's degree in Career and Technical Education with a concentration in Leadership from Athens State University. I received my National Board Certification in Career and Technical Education in 2018.

Experience

I have 19 years of experience as a classroom teacher. I began my teaching career in Memphis City Schools (Memphis, TN). I taught high school, middle school, and pre-school hearing-impaired classes. I have also taught in the Boerne Independent School District (Boerne, TX) as an itinerant teacher for the hearing impaired. I have spent the last 13 years at Discovery Middle School (Madison, AL). I have taught special education, 7th and 8th-grade math, Digital Publishing Tools, Money Money Money, Scholar's Bowl, and Digital Communications.

Biography

I am a native of Oklahoma, but claim Texas as home. My family and I have called Huntsville home for almost 14 years. My family includes my husband and three children. Some of my hobbies include reading, exploring new technology, and spending time outside by the pool.
