Facilitator
Educators facilitate learning with technology to support student achievement of the ISTE Standards for Students.

Rubrics are a way to guide student achievement when using technology. In my classes, students receive instruction about software programs and assist in creating a rubric that will be used to grade skills. Students use a digital copy to mark off each skill as they complete it and mark down questions to ask.

Rubrics are also used in our LMS platform as a way to assess and provide feedback quickly. My students are able to view the rubric at all times, see my assessment for each criterion and read comments. Rubrics are vital part of my technology classes.

In my classroom, I teach students how to use Microsoft Office products. These are software programs that students will use in college and life beyond. My middle school course is a brief introduction to these business skills. Students can choose to create in Microsoft Office when showcasing their work for digital portfolios.

The assignment here is similar to what students might create in my class when learning foundational skills in each program. Students create their own rubrics of skills that correspond with skills needed in their other classes. I facilitate their learning through instruction and resources.

My students also learn foundational skills in Google Suite. Google programs are currently used in our district as our main class platforms. The assignment here is an example of the different types of programs covered in my class.

As a facilitator, I have students create rubrics of skills that they need to learn or master for success in their classes. I provide instruction and resources for students to find success.
